UNVEILING THE ‘EAGLE’ SOARING JERSEY

February 08, 2018

Ahead of the Super Eagles' World Cup campaign, Sports manufacturers Nike have revealed the new Nigeria kits. This was done yesterday in London, with the help of the likes of Kelechi Iheanacho, Alex Iwobi and Wizkid.
I had Goosebumps after checking the video that Nike Football shared on their official YouTube Channel (which can be viewed via the link below), especially seeing Mikel, Ndidi, Iwobi and Iheanacho gave a glimpse of the team's new attire.

The Away kit, (more of a remake of the iconic shirts at USA1994 Classic Jersey); ‘a neon & white retro, design on the body, with dark green chevrons on a white background on the arms’.
The Home kit on the other hand, is a plain ‘Dark Green’ Jersey (almost same with the current one).

Nike presented the kits to the Nigeria Football Federation at a ceremony in London on Wednesday, and the NFF President, Amaju Pinnick, says;
“A constant in Nigeria is an endearing love of football. When football is on, everything stops. The new Nike kit designs honor our federation’s rich traditions. Moreover, they celebrate everything we relish about our culture.”
That was absolutely well said. “When football is on, everything stops”- That is Nigeria when it comes to football, especially World Cup.
So many reactions were aired on Social Media, as Nigerians were extremely impressed with the attires:
“We love the new jersey collection by @nikefootball for @NGSuperEagles #HRExpoAfrica #HREA2018 #cultureplus #2018FIFAWORLDCUP #SoarSuperEagles”- HRExpoAfrica
“Wow, the new Nigeria kit is a nutty tribute to their 1994 kit!”-  MOTDmag
“We're loving the new jersey for the super eagles! What are your thoughts? Ladies! Will you buy this for bae for Valentine's Day? #SuperEagles #ValsDay #Jersey #2018WorldCup #UnionBank”- UNIONBANK_NG
“#OFFICIAL: #SuperEagles have unveiled their new kits produced by #Nike ahead of the #WorldCup2018”- Sportsnet.

 Nigeria has been using Nike since 2014 as their kit manufacturer after dropping Adidas.
Super Eagles will wear the shirts for the first time on March 23 when they face Poland in a friendly in Warsaw, in preparation for World Cup Group D, which Nigeria is playing against Croatia, Iceland and Argentina.
