Adamu Garba, a 35year old who hails from Adamawa state, has declared his intention to take over the governance of Nigeria through presidency, come 2019. He has expressed his interest in contesting and is very positive that he will win the election. The intending aspirant mentioned that the days of analogous era of government in Nigeria are over, also adding that the likes of Buhari and Atiku need to step down for the next generation of young leaders tovtake over the country.
Most Nigerians seem to be in support of this as they have voiced a displeasure in the past leadership and the method of governance by the older folks. Elites alike believe that Adamu is the ray of hope for a change of power and current situation in Nigeria.

It was a masterclass display from Manchester City and Pep Guardiola, as they dismantled Arsené Wenger's toothless team at the Wembley Stadium for the Carabao Cup, to lift his first trophy since he took over at the Etihad.
Both sides went into the game off the back of shock defeats, with the Gunners losing 2-1 to Ostersunds in the Europa League last-32 second leg, (although they went through on aggregate), while Man City lost to Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup on Monday.
However, City who were favourites before the final, given the contrast in Premier League form: Pep Guardiola’s men are 16 points clear at the top
Going into the final, with the addition of Aubameyang, who spearheaded the attack for the Gunners, had first major threat which could have put them ahead, but for Walker's Quality defending, and Bravo's brilliant save, denied them a lead.
No clear cut chances between both teams, but the only chance they had, AGUERO chipped Ospina for the first Goal, after Mustafi's error in the first half, and could have had more with Sané 's constant threat.
Arsenal took the game to City in the second half, but the Quality of Fernando Silva, De bruyne, Sané and Aguero were too much to handle for the Gunners.
It wasn't long before injury prone Club Captain, Kompany made it 2-0. David Silva put an icing in the cake to make it 3-0.
This is eight finals for Arsené Wenger and Arsenal, and they have lost five.
Pep and his Boys will be looking for more trophies after this. Though, one hand is on EPL, as they already 'almost sealed the League'. Man City and Pep will be eyeing UEFA Champions League trophy as well.

16 teams have now be left to Battle it out till they end.
This Season even look much more exciting, on Paper already, as top teams that were unlucky in the UEFA Champions League were eliminated early from the Campaign.
The Draws;
Lazio will face Dynamo Kiev
RB Leipzig will battle it out with Zenit
Athletico Madrid face Lokomotiv Moskva
CSKA Moskva vs Lyon
Marseille will battle Athletic Club
Sporting Lisbon face Plzen
Dortmund vs high scoring Salzburg
Milan vs Arsenal
Most of the teams have not faced each other before, but there are familiar foes who will battle it out yet again.
The last time Athletico Madrid faced Locomotiv Moskva was in 2007/08 Uefa Cup Group Stage. It ended 3-3 at Moskow, where Sergio Aguero scored twice for Athletico Madrid.
Lazio beat Dynamo Kyiv home (2-1) and Away (1-0) in the 1999/ 2000 at Champions League first Group Stage. They look likely to replicate same, when they meet again.
Though, there are few teams that are favorites already, but the clash between Milan vs Arsenal will be the team the football nations will be looking forward to watching.
Apart from their Pedigree, they also have history together.
The last time they both faced each other in this competition, Ac Milan humiliated Arsenal 4-0 at San Siro. But Arsenal on the other hand, knocked AC Milan out of the 2007/08 Champions League, Scoring two late goals in the San Siro second leg to win 2-0 on aggregate. And, the last time Arsenal reached the UEFA Cup final was in 1999/2000.
Peter Stoger, Dortmund Coach has this to say after the draw;
“As an Austrian Coach, it is a special occasion to play against an Austrian team. It is a good challenge to play against Salzburg”.
Leipzig Coach, Hasenhuttl said;
Zenit is a real challenge for us, one we will look forward to preparing for.”
Marseille Coach;
Like our last opponent, it wasn’t long ago we last faced Athletic Club in the last 32 of the 2015/16 Europa League. Once more, we look forward to two great games in Marseille and Bilbao.”
This is absolutely going to be a Cracker!!!

The Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) chapter of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has pulled out of the national body to form a new body following a feud between both sides.
The feud between the national body and the chapter led to the disowning of OAU chapter by the national body.
According to the resolution of the congress of the OAU chapter that held on February 12, signed by the chairman of its caretaker committee, Niyi Sunmonu, the branch condemned the resolution of the ASUU National Executive Council meeting on the issues affecting the group.
“Last year, 732 of the 1,371 academic staff of Obafemi Awolowo University wrote to the university management to stop payment of their check off dues to the national body to express our displeasure against the way the national body handles the OAU branch’s crisis. There are several reasons for pulling out which include the alleged unilateral removal of the elected treasurer by ASUU national president and also the alleged transfer of N11 million from OAU branch account to ASUU national account,” he said.
The university chapter of ASUU has not been in good terms with the national body following the removal of the Caleb Aborisade-led executives by the branch congress, a move that was rejected by the national body.
However, the OAU chapter vowed to be with the Niyi Sunmonu-led caretaker committee and stopped payment of their check off dues to the national body.

All Wigan Athletic needed, in another historic night at DW Stadium, was Will Griggs stunner.
It was a shocking night as Pep Guardiola's Manchester City dominated most of the 90mins despite playing a man less than Wigan.
Fabian Delph got sent off correctly for a dangerous tackle on Max Power. The Referee, Anthony Taylor initially brought out a Yellow Card, but later changed his mind by issuing out a Red Card.
The Upset dashed Pep Guardiola's Quadruple as he has dreamt of doing so in England.
This is the third time in a row that Wigan Athletic will be dusting Man City out of the FA Cup.
Will Grigg's stunner does not only take his Goal tally to 51 Goals in 68, but also set up a FA Cup Quarter Final Clash against Southampton.
Pep Guardiola and his Boys definitely got their heart broken by Wigan Athletic once again, but will surely bounce back as they prepare for EFL Cup final against Arsenal on Sunday, 25th of February.

It was shocking to see the People of Kano in sober mood this morning, when I was heading to office this Morning, spreading the speculation of Chinedu, who had an outstanding match against his former team, Enyimba, barely 24hours ago.
It was like a rumor until his employer’s Twitter handle (@pillarsfc) tweeted;
“Chinedu Udoji was involved in a Car accident yesterday after visiting his former team mates at Enyimba. This tragic accident happened along Club Road, Kano. Our deepest condolences to his family, friends, fans, and football lovers all across the country."
It was said that the accident was on Saturday Night, but gave up the Ghost the following day.
The Experienced Center-Back who just signed a two-year deal with Kano Pillars last Season from his long serving Club, Enyimba is said to be considering returning in the nearest future.
Udoji said recently;
“I’m in talks with Enyimba over a possible return to the club,”
“Enyimba is a club after my heart and it will be great to wear the club’s colours again.
“The fans really love me there, which is the key reason why I want to make a quick return.”
He was to Enyimba what John Terry was to Chelsea; Captain Leader Legend Iconic No26 Warrior-Esque Center Back.
Captain Chinedu Udoji will surely be missed.

As Nigeria tries to work out a way to solve the herdsmen-farmers conflict, Tanzania faces a different dimension of the problem:herdsmen versus the wildlife in the parks. Tanzania during the week found six lions and 74 vultures dead near a national park, south of the country, after they were poisoned to death.
Permanent Secretary for Natural Resources and Tourism Gaudence Milanzi said the way the animals were killed suggested they had been poisoned by local herdsmen amid an escalating human-wildlife conflict in the country.
“I can confirm that six lions were poisoned in the wildlife management area just outside of the Ruaha National Park. We are investigating this incident,” Milanzi said, according to China’s news agency, Xinhua.
.
“An investigation launched by the government has been able to arrest one suspect, with samples of the poisoned lions and vultures taken to the Chief Government Chemist Laboratory to identify the type of poison used,” he said. Tanzania’s $2 billion tourism sector, which depends heavily on wildlife safari, is the biggest foreign exchange earner, but there are growing clashes between wildlife populations, farmers and livestock keepers Conservationists described the latest mass poisoning of lions and endangered vultures near the Ruaha National Park as a “devastating scene,” with the scavengers killed after eating a poisoned cattle carcass.
“Six lions… had been killed, apparently from poison, as they were all found close to a scavenged cattle carcass,” the Ruaha Carnivore Project (RCP), part of Oxford University’s Wildlife Conservation Research Unit (WildCRU), said in a statement.
“This event had additional tragic consequences, with dozens of critically endangered vultures found dead or badly affected,” the statement said. “They eventually found 74 dead vultures as well as the six lions.”
Four other sick vultures were taken to the Ruaha National Park for treatment. One died shortly after arrival, but the others are doing well, it said.
“It appears as if someone poisoned a carcass after lions attacked cattle.
Alarmingly, poisoning is a common response to conflict,” said the Ruaha Carnivore Project, which is monitoring lion populations in Tanzania. In 2014, a herdsman near the Ikona Wildlife Management Area in Serengeti district in Mara region poisoned to death seven lions after they attacked his cows.

It was a remarkable feat for the Former World No.1 Roger Federer on Sunday, 18th February, 2018 after defeating world number five Grigor Dimitrov 6-2-6-2, to win Rotterdam Open title.
This makes the 20-time Grand Slam champion, who will be confirmed as world number one again on Monday, for his 97th title.
The Bulgarian was broken in the fifth game, then on three more occasions as Federer won comfortably in 55 minutes.
The Champion after the match, said;
"The goal at start of week was to make it to the semi-finals," Federer said.
"It's unbelievable to be number one again. This is one of the best weeks of my life."
"I had a great first match and a great last match. In between it was a battle, it was nerve-wracking, but I was able to manage my nerves and the expectations."
This victory ensures Federer acquires;
- 97th career title
- 3rd Rotterdam title
- 306 weeks as world #1
- Surpassing the 10,000 points mark for the first time since January 2013
- 7th win against Dimitrov in 7 meetings.
Though, there were worries before the match. This is due to the fact that, any time Federer played Seppi in a match that wasn't the final; he failed to win the tournament. You can call that any name, but Roger Federer has broken the Seppi curse.
Federer, having now won 97 titles (13 to go for the record), is not even looking forward to retiring anytime soon.
He continued;
"Hopefully one day I can come back to Rotterdam. I'm not sure how many years I'll be playing but I'll enjoy this one. " Thank you very much for the great, great welcome I got this week. "I'll never forget this week- thank you guys."
This also means that, this is his 214th match win vs. top 10 players, and 67th hard court title.
There is no doubt about one thing; Federer will break Federer's records.

Big Brother has just evicted both K-Brule and Khloe. They were issued a strike following their disagreement last night. K-Brule during an argument, tried to attack Dee One but was held back by Angel and Lolu .
Big Brother found this unacceptable and issued him a strike making it three strikes. Khloe was disqualified for comments she made to Kbrule, calling his mother a whore. Movie lovers who watched one of the most anticipated films that premiered across the globe this week walked out wondering whether it was impossible to overstate what Black Panther means.
To many, the superhero diversity and its story is, and will always remain, the same. The question is, "What do we want from a superhero movie in 2018?" Or rather, "what is fair to ask of a superhero movie?"
Black Panther arrives in the middle of this heavily mined, fracked and plundered story landscape, which was led by an action-packed trailer that did not, for the first time, feature a culture dominated by white superheroes. Rather, it was an almost entirely black main cast.
Before we go any further, let me say that the fact that Black Panther exists is wonderful. To me it was an unmitigated thrill watching a non-white superhero jumping around and kicking butt, surrounded by an almost completely non-white supporting cast and what seemed to be a more healthy balance of male and female butt-kickers.
In Black Panther,T'Challa (Chadwick Boseman) returns home as king to a fictional African nation known as Wakanda, but finds his rule challenged by a long-time adversary in a conflict that has global consequences.
The film, shot in Atlanta - US, and Busan - South Korea, features established actors like Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, our very own Lupita Nyang'o, Danai Gurira, with rising stars Letitia Wright and Oscar nominee Daniel Kaluuya also making their presence felt.
RAPTUROUS RECEPTION
The film has been given a rapturous reception from both critics and cinemagoers, enjoying a 98 per cent fresh rating on reviews website Rotten Tomatoes, despite a pushback campaign to bring the rating down.
Told with jovial wit and at a fast pace, it begins with the origin of the myth about Wakanda, a mountainous African country assumed by the rest of the world to be poor and backward. An ancient meteor strike brought the miracle substance, vibranium, to the area enabling Wakandans to build the most advanced civilization on Earth and cloak it under an invisibility shield.
Its monarchy was established by a panther goddess who lent her superpowers to an ancestor of T'Challa, who has inherited those powers and is now king.
Speaking to ActScene, IMAX Marketing Manager Flora Njagi said that Black Panther was one of the biggest movies to premiere in Kenya.
"We have never seen such a reception in this country. In Kisumu, it was all pomp as people celebrated one of their own."
EXCITING MOMENT
She added that despite Lupita's absence at Kenya's premiere, it drew several hundred people and did not dampen the atmosphere. "It was an exciting moment when Lupita mentioned Kenya in the movie and the viewers went wild after she said, 'These are my friends from Kenya'."
But despite all this, is it worth cheering? When we're done celebrating what it represents, what we're left with is a fairly standard superhero movie.
The car chases and hand-to-hand combat sequences are fun, even if at times a bit disorienting. Some fight scenes are shot up close and in the dark and it can be hard to tell who's hitting who. And some sort of battle rhino makes an appearance.
FUNNY MOMENTS
Despite that, there are some funny moments, with characters like T'Challa's sister Shuri (Letitia Wright), and M'Baku (Winston Duke), a rival tribal leader, providing some much-needed comic relief. You will also enjoy, without giving anything away, many plot points that feel too similar to things that have happened in previous superhero movies.
By the end of the movie, you will walk out thinking less about what makes it average and more about what makes it special. Most importantly, in Kenya, people were happy to celebrate Lupita.
"She couldn't be here in the flesh, but for her fans, Lupita's presence in the poster on display at the premiere next to the red carpet in Nairobi and Kisumu was enough," said Ms Njaigi.

A total of 9,204 students, who had been screened, were formally admitted into various academic disciplines of the University of Lagos for the 2017/2018 academic session on Friday.
Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, Vice-Chancellor of the institution administered the oath of allegiance to the new students.The ceremony was held amidst tight security as armed personnel were seen at strategic places around the venue. The tight security might not be unconnected with a threat by the non-teaching staff of labour unions of the institution that are currently on indefinite strike.
In his brief address, Ogundipe congratulated the students for their success in enrolling into the university.
He urged them to stay off drugs, robbery and any other vices capable of compromising their stay in the institution and ruining their future career.
“I want to admonish you all to stay focused; take your academics seriously in order to graduate peacefully as and when due.
“You must all carry yourselves well; eschew all forms of violence by staying away from bad gangs.
“Always be of good behaviour so as to prove a worthy ambassador of this great university and a pride to your parents and the society in general,’’ he said.

Former Super Eagles Coach, Sunday Oliseh, who was appointed as the New Head Coach of Dutch Second Division side Fortuna Sittard in January, 2017, is said to be sacked barely a year after his appointment.
The 42 year Old former Nigeria Captain signed a two-and-a-half deal at the Club, when Fortuna Sittard were placed 18th in the 20-team Dutch second division with 15 points from 19 games, led the Dutch club Fortuna Sittard to their first trophy in 23 years.
So, it was baffling to see the official statement earlier released by Fortuna Sittard read:
“Fortuna Sittard immediately puts coach Sunday Oliseh on non-active.
“The club management makes this decision as a result of the repeatedly culpable actions for a longer period by the trainer towards several persons in the organization.
“Several attempts by the club to move the trainer to other behavior were unfortunately without result, resulting in an unworkable situation.
“The board of Fortuna Sittard emphasizes that the decision to disband Sunday Oliseh is not motivated by the current sporting performance.
“Because of his inadmissible actions, the coach has made the cooperation with many people within the organization impossible. From players to employees.
“Fortuna Sittard regrets the decision, but states that the club interest goes above all else.”
There has also been some uproar at the Club after his twitter post after his response to the sack.
He came on twitter to blow up what is said to have gone wrong for the Club to have been playing woefully of late.
Oliseh tweeted;
“I confirm; Due to my refusal to participate in illegal activities at Fortuna Sittard & violate the Law, I have been suspended from my duties as Coach by the foreign owners of Fortuna. Unfortunate for the lovely fans, my players & our hard fought phenomenal positioning for promotion”.
This of course, didn’t go down well to the Management of Fortuna Sittard, who have now filled a Court case against Sunday Oliseh.
The promotion-chasing team who have now announced Claudio Braga as the interim man to take the position of Oliseh, has however denied the allegation by Oliseh, of his refusal to take part in illegal activities has been denied by Fortuna Sittard.
The club made a statement on their website to confirm that they would summon Oliseh to arbitration arm of their country’s FA.
The club said:
“The case will be presented by Fortuna Sittard to the arbitration committee of the KNVB – an independent body – which will now make an assessment of whether there is sufficient ground to terminate the employment contract of Sunday Oliseh”
This is definitely not looking good for the former Nigeria Captain, as we await the verdict of the arbitration committee of the KNVB.

The Nigerian army has laid a 3million naira bounty on boko haram leader; Abubakar shekau. In a press release, the public relations officer stated:
'Credible information from arrested and surrendered insurgents indicated that the purported Boko Haram terrorists group factional leader, Abubakar Shekau could not bear the heat anymore as he has abandoned his followers, he is running for his dear life. He is desperately trying to escape the theatre disguised as a woman dressed in Hijab. We reliably gathered that to avoid detection Abubakar Shekau alternates between blue and black coloured hijabs. He was last seen in a black hijab.
We therefore call on all those remaining Boko Haram terrorists to know that they are following a coward moving about in hijab disguised as a woman. We also request all the remaining Boko Haram members to come out from hiding and lay down their arms and be treated humanely.
While concerted efforts are ongoing to track and apprehend the fugitive terrorist leader, we implore also members of the public, especially the residents of Adamawa, Borno and Yobe States to be more vigilant, security conscious and be on the look out of Abubakar Shekau and other terrorists that might disguise as women to escape.
You are please requested to disseminate this information to the public through your medium.'

Adressing newsmen on the Nigerian International Petroleum Summit, NIPS, scheduled to hold between February 18 and 22, 2018, the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Mr. Ibe Kachikwu, said the government is highly concerned about the growing fuel queues and is already working round the clock to address the crisis.

The South African President, Jacob Zuma has resigned from office. In a televised statement he said he was quitting with immediate effect but said he disagreed with his ANC party's decision.
After paying tribute to those whom he had worked with over the years, Mr Zuma said that violence and division within the ANC had influenced his decision to step down.
"No life should be lost in my name and also the ANC should never be divided in my name. I have therefore come to the decision to resign as president of the republic with immediate effect," he said.
"Even though I disagree with the decision of the leadership of my organisation, I have always been a disciplined member of the ANC.
"As I leave I will continue to serve the people of South Africa as well as the ANC, the organisation I have served... all of my life."
The ANC had told him to step down or face a vote of no confidence in parliament.

The excitement that comes with the atmosphere of Champions League Football, is always so intoxicating, more so; the Knock Out stages.
The Group Stage, which was completed in the first week of December, separated the ‘Boys from the Men’. Now, sixteen teams remain in the hunt for the Biggest Prize in Club football; UEFA Champions League.
It is also intriguing to know that, there are five English teams in this year’s second round phase;
Chelsea, Manchester City, Man United, Tottenham and Liverpool.
Real Madrid, Sevilla and Barcelona are from Spanish League.
PSG is the only team remaining as the representative from French League.
Juventus and Roma (Serie A), FC Basel (Swiss League), Besiktas (Turkish League), Bayern (Bundesliga), Portuguese’ Porto, and Shakhtar Donetsk (Ukraine) completed the sixteen teams for the Knock out stages.
As usual, there is always a favorite to win the tournament. Likewise, there is also that surprising team that springs up a shocker. Of course, Barcelona, PSG, Bayern, Real Madrid, Juventus and Manchester City will always be the team that will come up for a debate on who will definitely be winning this year’s Champions League trophy, come May. But, could unlikely Basel, Shakhtar Donetsk or Besiktas spring up this year’s shocker teams? It is definitely going to be a misery to unravel.
In today’s’ Games (13-02-2018) 8:45pm;
The Swiss Champions, Basel will be locking horns with High Scoring Man City, (under Pep Guardiola), and The Old Lady, Juventus will battle it with Tottenham, who has one of the Best Striker (Harry Kane) in world football today.
Both Games are expected to bring sparkles and Goals.
Tomorrow (14-02-2018)8:45pm;
The Portuguese Porto will fight it hard with the 3 Musketeers (Salah, Mane and Firmino) from Liverpool. Real Madrid and PSG (which is the week Star Match), will be the Battle of Stars and Pride.
Neymar, Mbappe and Cavanni’s combination has been dreadful since the beginning of the Season, and it should be worrisome for the Madridstas.
We can’t leave out the experience of Ramos, Modric, Kroos, Marcelo and the ever monstrous beast in Ronaldo as well. But, one thing that is certain is;
It is definitely going to be a CRACKER!
We will always be here to give you an update, fixtures and everything around UEFA Champions League.

A mystery snake is said to have sneaked into the accounts office of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, in Makurdi, the Benue State capital and made away with N36 million cash.
Before now, JAMB candidates purchased scratch cards from JAMB state offices and other designated centers, to gain access to the Board’s website for either registration or to check their admission status but the reforms introduced by JAMB registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, recommended an end to the use of scratch cards.
A team of auditors was dispatched to different state offices of JAMB to take inventory of the sold and unsold scratch cards and recover whatever money that might have either been generated or mismanaged during the period of the sale of scratch cards.
On their visit to Makurdi office of JAMB, a sales clerk, Philomina Chieshe, told JAMB registrar and his team that she could not account for N36 million she made in previous years before the abolition of scratch cards.
In the course of interrogation, Philomena confessed that it was her housemaid that connived with another JAMB staff, Joan Asen, to “spiritually” steal the money from the vault in the accounts office.
She said: “I was one of the four sales clerks attached to JAMB office in Makurdi. My responsibility was to sell scratch cards to candidates and not involved in handling the revenues. It was the responsibility of Joan Asen and my other senior colleagues. I only remit money when am done selling the car.
“Few months ago, there was issue of fraud in the Makurdi office. Auditors were sent from Abuja to carefully flip the record books of the office, to perhaps, ascertain the current state of affairs.
“The state Coordinator, Obilo, was not around when the audit team came. But in the course of the audit, N36 million was discovered to have been missing from the account. An investigation was launched. In the course of the investigation, it was discovered that Joan Asen, who is account staff and a lady outside JAMB have connived to steal the money.”
Philomina in her confessional statement said that Joan Asen and her accomplices confessed that they have been stealing the money “spiritually” through a mysterious snake that always sneak into the office to swallow the money from the vault.
According to her “It was a mystery to me too. I have been saving the money in the bank, but I found it difficult to account for it. So I started saving it in a vault in the office. But each time I open the vault, I will find nothing. I became worried and surprised how the millions of Naira could be disappearing from the vault. I began to interrogate everybody in the house and office, and no one could agree on what might have happened to the money. I continued to press until my housemaid confessed. She said that the money disappeared “spiritually”. She said that a “mysterious snake” sneaked into the house and swallowed the money in the vault.”

Ahead of the Super Eagles' World Cup campaign, Sports manufacturers Nike have revealed the new Nigeria kits. This was done yesterday in London, with the help of the likes of Kelechi Iheanacho, Alex Iwobi and Wizkid.
I had Goosebumps after checking the video that Nike Football shared on their official YouTube Channel (which can be viewed via the link below), especially seeing Mikel, Ndidi, Iwobi and Iheanacho gave a glimpse of the team's new attire.
Watch youtube video
The Away kit, (more of a remake of the iconic shirts at USA1994 Classic Jersey); ‘a neon & white retro, design on the body, with dark green chevrons on a white background on the arms’.
The Home kit on the other hand, is a plain ‘Dark Green’ Jersey (almost same with the current one).
Nike presented the kits to the Nigeria Football Federation at a ceremony in London on Wednesday, and the NFF President, Amaju Pinnick, says;
“A constant in Nigeria is an endearing love of football. When football is on, everything stops. The new Nike kit designs honor our federation’s rich traditions. Moreover, they celebrate everything we relish about our culture.”
That was absolutely well said. “When football is on, everything stops”- That is Nigeria when it comes to football, especially World Cup.
So many reactions were aired on Social Media, as Nigerians were extremely impressed with the attires:
“We love the new jersey collection by @nikefootball for @NGSuperEagles #HRExpoAfrica #HREA2018 #cultureplus #2018FIFAWORLDCUP #SoarSuperEagles”- HRExpoAfrica
“Wow, the new Nigeria kit is a nutty tribute to their 1994 kit!”- MOTDmag
“We're loving the new jersey for the super eagles! What are your thoughts? Ladies! Will you buy this for bae for Valentine's Day? #SuperEagles #ValsDay #Jersey #2018WorldCup #UnionBank”- UNIONBANK_NG
“#OFFICIAL: #SuperEagles have unveiled their new kits produced by #Nike ahead of the #WorldCup2018”- Sportsnet.
Nigeria has been using Nike since 2014 as their kit manufacturer after dropping Adidas.
Super Eagles will wear the shirts for the first time on March 23 when they face Poland in a friendly in Warsaw, in preparation for World Cup Group D, which Nigeria is playing against Croatia, Iceland and Argentina.

The House of Representatives are currently considering a motion demanding the immediate removal of the IGP from his current position.
Jimoh’s offence was reported to be derogatory remarks against the Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State during a live television interview on Tuesday.
In the motion sponsored by Hon. Mark Gbillah which enjoyed the support of most lawmakers, the conduct of the police officer was roundly condemned.
The motion seeks to have the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris, to provide an unreserved apology to the Benue state governor and also relieve the PPRO of his position.
Earlier, the Benue state Caucus of the House had addressed a press conference demanding the resignation of the PPRO over professional misconduct and partisanship.
According to the lawmakers, the statements of the Police Officer while appearing on the Channels Television Programme, Sunrise Daily, where he demanded the resignation of the Benue state governor indicates the partisanship of the Nigerian police as an agency.

According to news reports this week, online classifieds marketplace, Efritin.com has closed shop in Nigeria due to Nigeria’s economic conditions, less than 2 years after its launch.
“It basically has to do with the fact that we didn’t get desired returns on our investment, so we decided to scale back on our investments in Nigeria and that means we are forced to let many people leave the company,” Nils Hammar CEO of Saltside, owners of Efritin told ITWeb Africa in an interview.
The staff of the company are already leaving the head office, which is located in Ikeja and the properties of the company are being put up for sale. However, the company clarified that the site is not going to be shutdown but it will be up and running as it has been. But how do they intend to manage this?
“I think the data cost in Nigeria is very high. In comparison to other parts of West Africa, Africa and the rest of the world, it is very expensive to use the Internet for the vast majority of the people. It is very difficult for e-commerce and classifieds because they are quite late in the evolution of the Internet industry,” said Nils.
A statement on its website reads;
''Efritin has left the building
It's been a pleasure serving you all over the years, but we have now decided to close down the shop and go home. A big thanks to everyone for the support, and who knows - we might meet again''
Yet another e-commerce company closes shop. What's happening?

The Zinox Group, yesterday, announced that it had concluded the acquisition of e-commerce powerhouse, Konga, after a month-long negotiation with major investors, Naspers and AB Kinnevik.
Chief Leo Stan Ekeh, Chairman, Zinox according to the terms of the acquisition, the Zinox Group will assume ownership of the e-commerce group, which includes Konga.com, an online mall; KongaPay, a CBN-licensed mobile money platform with over 100,000 subscribers and rated as one of the best mobile money channels in the country, as well as KOS-Express, a digitally-driven and world-class logistics company with advanced delivery capabilities for Konga and other structured companies nationwide. The group says the acquisition would help retain several Nigerians working in the e-commerce outfit, while more will be employed. The acquisition is also understood to have passed all regulatory approvals by the Securities and Exchange Commission, SEC.
Zinox says its first priority in the acquisition is to reposition Konga for a greater share of the e-commerce market in Nigeria and beyond. ‘
Why we picked Konga’
Head of Corporate Communications, Zinox Group, Gideon Ayogu, said the decision to invest in Konga was as a result of long interest in the e-commerce business. He said: “We have always had an interest in Konga and another big one you know very well. But our priority was Konga, because of her integrated nature of four quality companies.” Already, the e-commerce company is said to be worth $34 million, has 184,000 active users, which is 80 percent mobile based. Former owners of the business are South Africa-based Naspers, a broad-based multinational internet and media group, offering services in more than 130 countries, while AB Kinnevik, founded in 1936, is a Swedish investment company, investing primarily in digital consumer brands. Through this acquisition, the Zinox Group, also one of Nigeria’s foremost integrated ICT solutions conglomerate and Original Equipment Manufacturer, OEM, is expected to expand its operations to e-commerce, an industry it pioneered in Nigeria with the launch of BuyRight Africa.com, which was challenged by the absence of credit card and e-payment infrastructure when it was launched over 12 years ago. Interestingly, this unprecedented development is coming at a time global e-commerce spending is expected to top previous levels. In 2017, retail e-commerce sales worldwide was valued at $2.829 trillion, while e-retail revenues are projected to grow to $4.48 trillion in 2021. Sources at Zinox told Vanguard the acquisition is expected to create employment for over 5,000 Nigerians, both at home and in the Diaspora, within a short period.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday in Abuja signed Executive Order 5 to improve local content in public procurement with science, engineering and technology components.
The Executive Order is expected to promote the application of science, technology and innovation towards achieving the nation’s development goals across all sectors of the economy.
The president, pursuant to the authority vested in him by the constitution, ordered that all ‘‘procuring authorities shall give preference to Nigerian companies and firms in the award of contracts, in line with the Public Procurement Act 2007.’’
The Executive Order also prohibits the Ministry of Interior from giving visas to foreign workers whose skills are readily available in Nigeria.
It, however, notes that where expertise is lacking, procuring entities will give preference to foreign companies and firms with a demonstrable and verifiable plan for indigenous development, prior to the award of such contracts.
In the proclamation entitled ‘‘Presidential executive order 5 for planning and execution of projects, promotion of Nigerian content in contracts and science, engineering and technology,’’ the president also directed Ministries, Departments and Agencies to engage indigenous professionals in the planning, design and execution of national security projects.
It adds that ‘‘consideration shall only be given to a foreign professional, where it is certified by the appropriate authority that such expertise is not available in Nigeria.’’

How does a sane person force himself on someone even while they are clearly in pain?
How does a sane person force himself on someone even while they are clearly in pain?
How do we begin to publicly shame these offenders and make them do time, to serve as a deterrent to others?
