as Real Madrid boss, five days after leading them to a third straight Champions League triumph, claiming the club needs “a different voice”.

Zidane told a news conference that “everything changes” and “that’s why I took this decision”.

He leaves having guided the Spanish club to three successive Champions League titles and one La Liga success since taking over in January 2016.

“I love this club,” he added.

Nude photos of Unilag professor who molests female students released! 'I feel so dirty for even allowing such an old man touch me' - victim says

Barely one month after Obafemi Awolowo Univeristy, Osun State was embroiled in a 'sex for marks' scandal, a female student of the University of Lagos has reached out to LIB to share her sad and depressing story of molestation in the hands of one of her lecturers who according to her is a proffesor in the English Department.

The student (name withheld) managed to get nude photos of her molester in one of their 'encounters' and according to her;

I have been suffering this for months now. Whenever students go to his office for anything he is always trying to touch you. I took pictures of him on one of the days I entered his office. He has made molestation a part of him. I’m even scared for my life in Unilag. That’s why I’m reaching out to you so he can be stopped.

She went on to add that;

 
He is a professor in the English department, Faculty of Arts. I am not his first victim. He does this all the time to students. I have completely given up when it comes to academics he has failed me on tests before. When I talked to him concerning it he told me I should know what to do I am an adult. I feel so dirty for even allowing such an old man touch me. But he doesn’t even care.

As long as you satisfy his wants. I’m tired of everything. He should be stopped before he ruins the lives of other innocent girls in that English department. When he touches me I am always in tears but it doesn’t stop him. Please this is why i am reaching out all I want is for him to be stopped. He is destroying the mental state of girls in Unilag.

I just want him stopped. I reached out because I don’t want him to continue molesting girls. The English department is like a cult. The lecturers have information amongst themselves. They talk about the girls they have slept with and the ones they plan to sleep with. It has been going on for years.

We hope with this report, the school authorities will look into this as a matter of urgency!

ISIS have published images ahead of the World Cup in Russia in the summer which says "victory will be ours" along with some gruesome images.

Terrorist group Daesh have issued another threat against Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo's lives for the World Cup in Russia this summer. In October of last year, they released a poster which depicted Messi and Neymar dead on the ground. There were also images released of a caricatured Messi behind bars with blood streaming from his face and they threatened violence in Russia during the summer.

Now, ISIS have released new images with a warning that says: "the ground will be filled with your blood". Along with the Russian World Cup's logo, Messi and Ronaldo are seen in the photo in gruesome fashion. Also, a second poster shows a militant of the terrorist group carrying what appears to be an explosive device into a stadium. That poster reads: 'FIFA World Cup Russia 2018: the victory will be ours'.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup will be played in 11 Russian cities between June 14th and July 15th, with the final being played at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow.

Canadian officials in Nigeria are working with the U.S. on developing tools to flag Nigerians applying for U.S. visas who may be at “high risk” of crossing illegally into Canada across the U.S. border.

So far this year, the majority of illegal migrants arriving in Canada are Nigerians who have recently been issued U.S. travel visas.

“It is apparent that they obtained those visas with the express intent to actually go to Canada,” said Hursh Jaswal, communications director for Immigration Minister Ahmed Hussen.

“They land in the United States, where they stay for a very short period of time, and then make their way to Canada.”

That’s why Canada is now working with its American counterparts to try to stop Nigerian travellers to the United States from using their U.S. visas as a ticket to Canada – a practice Jaswal calls an “abuse of U.S. visas for the purpose of asylum.”

Canadian officials in Nigeria are now working directly with their U.S. counterparts to develop assessment indicators that would flag cases “deemed to be high risk,” Jaswal said.

Last year, the majority of irregular migrants who arrived in Canada were Haitian, which was largely attributed to the Trump administration’s decision to lift the temporary protected status for immigrants from Haiti living in the U.S.

This year’s shift toward Nigerians is not surprising to Kehinde Olalere, a Canadian immigration lawyer who grew up in Nigeria and regularly travels to the country.

Nigerians fleeing the violence of Boko Haram and other systemic persecutions in Nigeria find it marginally easier to obtain travel visas from the U.S. compared to Canada. But many see the United States as merely a transit point on the way to Canada, Olalere said.

“The U.S.A. is not an attractive place to most Nigerians right now. It used to be the most attractive place, but with the Trump factor – the old-style immigration climate in the U.S. compared to Canada – most people are going to find their way to Canada.”

Jean-Nicolas Beuze, president of the United Nations high commissioner for refugees in Canada, disagreed with the “Trump factor” theory, saying he believes the influx of Nigerian refugee claimants is more closely related to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s more welcoming messaging about immigrants.

Many Nigerians face persecution for their sexual orientation and women face high rates of domestic violence from their partners, as well as the threat of genital mutilation. Canada’s more progressive laws and attitudes towards these populations make it a more desirable place to live, Beuze said.

“They think that Canada will be a country where they will receive asylum and where they feel they will be able to integrate and resume a normal life, far away from persecution.”

Individuals and families fleeing from the violence and oppression of Nigeria are well versed in Canada’s immigration laws and have likely seen the statistics showing Nigerian refugee claimants have a 35 per cent success rate in having their claims accepted, Olalere said.

That’s why he believes the flow of migrants from Nigeria may not soon be over. “I don’t see this ending any time soon.”

Meanwhile, a U.S. State Department spokesperson said Monday work is ongoing to improve screening processes for American visas, keeping in mind a need to balance safety and protection concerns with legitimate travel and immigration to the United States.

However, no changes have yet been made to the U.S. visa application process.

Manchester City  are English Premier League champions after Manchester United lost 1-0 to relegation threatened West Brom at Old Trafford on Sunday.

On a day that United put in another flat performance with Pogba being substituted at half time, City will lift the title for the third time in seven years. 

Only last week, United defeated their city rivals at the Etihad stadium after coming from behind to stun the home fans who were in high spirits expecting to lift the trophy by after leading 2-0 at half time but goals from Pogba and Smalling delayed the celebrations.

Today, they have been confirmed Premier league champions after United lost in front of their home fans to the bottom club and City defeated Tottenham at Wembley yesterday.

Ahmad Salkida, a journalist with links to Boko Haram has revealed how members of the Boko Haram sect kidnapped the Chibok girls.

The students were kidnapped from the Government Secondary School in Chibok, Borno state in April 2014.

According to him, “Four years ago, a middle ranking BH commander led dozens of fighters in search of food and other supplies in the remote town of Chibok, like an afterthought, they saw a chance to abduct school girls in GSS Chibok, the girls at the time were preparing for their exams.

“The dozens of BH fighters faced no opposition during the abductn, as they struggled to convey their captives to the forest of Alagarno, the insurgent's first war capital, which they named Timbuktu. It was in Timbuktu that they organised most of the horror we experience today.”

Boko Haram didn’t know what to do with Chibok girls

Salkida also revealed that Boko Haram did not know what to do with the Chibok girls initially.

He said “Some of the girls were lucky to have escaped on their way to Timbuktu that night, because there were fewer fighters to hold more than 200 girls. At the beginning, the group didn't know what to do with the girls, at least, not in the first one month of their captivity.”

Students’ release became business transaction

Salkida also revealed how some people turned the negotiations to release the Chibok girls into a business transaction.

The investigative reporter also revealed that only 15 of the abducted Chibok girls are alive.

According to him, the other girls died during exchange of fire between the Nigerian military and members of the dreaded terror group.

Ahmad Salkida was declared wanted by the Nigerian Army in 2016, following a video which he reportedly released on behalf of Boko Haram.

Manchester City have three players on the six-man shortlist for the Professional Footballers' Association Players' Player of the Year.

Sessegnon, who made his debut for England Under-21s against Ukraine last month, is the first player from outside the top flight to be nominated since the awards began in 1983.

The six-man young players' list also contains three City players, with 22-year-old Germany international Sane nominated alongside England forward Raheem Sterling, 23, and Brazil goalkeeper Ederson Moraes, 24.

Manchester United and England forward Marcus Rashford, 20, completes the list.

To be eligible for the award, players must be 23 or under at the beginning of the season.

The winners for both awards, voted for by PFA members, will be announced at a ceremony at London's Grosvenor House on 22 April.

Chelsea midfielder N'Golo Kante won the 2016-17 player of the year award, while Tottenham's Dele Alli was voted best young player for the second season in a row.

KEVIN DE BRYUNE

Belgium international De Bruyne has played a pivotal role in Manchester City's march towards their third Premier League title, with Pep Guardiola's side 13 points clear going into this weekend's fixtures.

His range of passing, crossing and set-piece deliveries have been a key part of City's armoury. He has provided more assists (15) and created more chances (102) than any other player in the Premier League this season and has also scored 11 goals.

The 26-year-old joined City for a then club record fee of £55m in 2015.

DAVID DEGEA

De Gea has appeared in the PFA's team of the year four times in the past five years.

And the 27-year-old Spain international has been in excellent form again this season, keeping 16 clean sheets in 32 league games - the most in the top flight.

He also has the highest save percentage, stopping 80% of shots faced, which ranks third in Europe's top five leagues (England, France, Italy, Germany and Spain).

HARRY KANE

This is the fourth year in a row in which Kane has been up for both awards.

With 25 league goals so far, Kane has enjoyed another prolific campaign. He is attempting to become the first player since former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry to finish as the Premier League's top scorer for a third consecutive season, though he is four behind Salah as it stands.

This is the fourth successive campaign Kane has broken the 20-goal mark. Only three other players have managed that feat in the Premier League - Alan Shearer (1993-94 to 1996-97 for Blackburn and Newcastle), Henry (2001-02 to 2005-06 for Arsenal) and Sergio Aguero (2014-15 to 2017-18 for Manchester City)

MOHAMMED SALAH

Salah has scored 29 goals in 33 league games for Jurgen Klopp's free-scoring Liverpool side.

The Egyptian is four clear of Kane in the race for the golden boot and has directly contributed to 50 goals in all competitions this season.

The 25-year-old's goals and assists have earned the Reds 15 points - more than any other Premier League player. He has been involved in 51% of his side's 75 league goals, again more than any other player.

He also scored in both legs of Liverpool's 5-1 aggregate victory over Manchester City in the Champions League quarter-finals.

LEROY SANE

Sane is enjoying a fine second season at Etihad Stadium, having from Schalke for £46.5m in 2016.

Central to Guardiola's attacking blueprint is width, pace and elusive running. Sane has scored 13 goals and provided 16 assists in his 44 appearances for the Blues this term.

DAVID SILVA

Nicknamed 'Merlin' by team-mates and supporters, Silva remains key to City's free-flowing style eight years and more than 300 appearances after joining the club from Valencia.

The 32-year-old Spain midfielder has created 14 goals to help propel City towards a fifth top-flight title and his pass completion rate of 89% is the highest of any attack-minded player in the Premier League.

President Muhammadu Buhari will seek a second term in February 2019 elections, the presidency announced on Twitter on Monday.

The governor of Kaduna state had earlier tweeted that Buhari told the ruling party’s National Executive Committee of his intention to contest in the 2019 presidential elections.

Kaduna’s governor, Nasir El-Rufai, is one of Buhari’s key allies.

The 75-year-old took a three months sick leave in Britain last year, being treated for an undisclosed ailment, triggering accusations by opposition groups and other critics that he was unfit for office and that his administration was beset by inertia.

Many Nigerians jokingly call him “Baba Go-Slow”, though his supporters have given him the credit for Nigeria’s exit from recession in the second quarter of last year.

Buhari will seek his All Progressives Congress (APC) party’s presidential ticket to contest the 2019 elections, the presidency said on its Twitter account.

The former general led a short-lived military regime that was overthrown in a coup in 1985.

In 2015, the northern Muslim defeated incumbent Goodluck Jonathan of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), riding a wave of popular resentment against widespread corruption and insecurity.

The postponed convocation ceremony of the University of Lagos, Unilag, will now take place from May 8 to May 11, the Registrar, Dr Taiwo Ipaye, has said.

Mr Ipaye made the disclosure in an interview on Sunday in Lagos.

A week-long convocation ceremony for the 2016/2017 academic session was earlier scheduled to begin on Feb. 19 but postponed as a result of strike by non- academic workers.

“The university management is happy to announce a new date for the convocation ceremony.

“The schedule for the ceremony remains the same. The only additional thing is reception for retired professors, directors and registrars; it will take place on the last day, Friday, May 11, after Jumat prayers,” she said.

According to the registrar, Gov. Akinwumi Ambode of Lagos State will deliver the convocation lecture on May 8.

“The lecture, with the theme: “Inclusion: The Path to a New Nation’’, previously scheduled for Feb. 19, would kick-start activities lined up for the ceremony,’’she said.

Ipaye said that an opening exhibition and the inauguration of the 12th Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, would, however, precede the lecture.

According to her, the main convocation ceremony will be held in two sessions (morning and afternoon) each day from May 9 to May 11.

She said graduating students for the Faculties of Arts, Environmental Sciences and Sciences would be attended to in the afternoon of the same day.

According to Ipaye, on May 10, award of first degrees, diplomas, certificates and announcement of prize winners for graduating students of the Faculties of Engineering, Law and Management Sciences will hold in the morning.

She said that graduating students of the Faculties of Basic Medical Sciences, Clinical Sciences, Dental Sciences, Pharmacy and the Distance Learning Institute would be awarded first degrees, diplomas and certificates in the afternoon of the same day.
Ipaye said that the ceremony would end on May 11 with congregation for the award of higher degrees of the School of Postgraduate Studies.

She said that on the same day, the Best Researcher Award and conferment of the Distinguished and Emeritus Professors would also hold. (NAN)
