Johnson Sirleaf and Tubman garnered most votes, yet—as neither earned a greater part—a run-off was held on November 8. Johnson Sirleaf was reelected by a wide gap marredlow voter turnout. 

In December 2014 Weah ran for the position of representative of Montserrado county under the aegis of the CDC. He conveniently defeated his closest adversary, Robert Sirleaf (one of the president's children), taking 78 percent of the vote to Sirleaf's very nearly 11 percent. After two years, Weah's CDC converged with two different gatherings to frame the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC). Weah was the CDC's competitor in the October 2017 presidential decision, with Jewel Howard Taylor, representative for Bong region and previous spouse of the removed president Taylor, as his running mate. 

In April 2016, Weah announced his aim to keep run for President of Liberia for a second time. December 28 2017, Weah won the Presidential race and is charged to assume control from Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.

The Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Maikanti Baru, has cut short his trip to London, in order to address the issue of the fuel scarcity. Mixed reactions have trailed the recent appointment of a minister of happiness by the Imo state governor; Rochas okorocha. The new minister is reported to be his sister; Mrs ogechi Ololo. Nigerians have taken to the social media to express their anger and dissapointment at the recent development. In a bid to respond to the various reactions, the new minister took to her twitter account to defend herself by informing her critics that she has a counterpart in the United Arab Emirates; Mohamed Saeed Ghaith Al Mazrouei, who was appointed in the year 2016, by the prime minister through his Twitter account. The appointment is coming at a time when there is an agitation to end S.A.R.S and some Nigerians believe this appointment and its trend is a means of distracting the #Endsarsnow movement.
 A statement released recently, to the press, by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Sam Onwuemeodo, reveals that there was an error that led to the naming of the Ministry as the Ministry of Happiness and Couples fulfilment, as it is now called Ministry of Happiness and Purpose Fulfilment.
“There was a typographic error in the first statement issued on the swearing in of the new commissioners.
The word “Couple” was inadvertently written, instead of the word “Purpose,” we regret that.

The Special anti-robbery squad, has been trending in recent times. In a statement released by police public relations officer, the Inspector General of Police; Idris Kpotun Ibrahim, made some new adjustments to the structure of the squad and introduced channels for complaints and information about the squad. Some of the changes include:
 The Police Zonal Commands, State Commands and Divisions will continue to operate anti-crime units/sections, crime prevention and control squads and teams imperative to prevent and detect crimes and criminalities in their Area of Responsibilities, and other crack squads necessary to sustain law and order and protection of life and properties in their Area of responsibilities (AOR)
 Federal Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS) will now exist and operate in the State and Zonal Commands under the Commissioner of Police (F-SARS) at the Force Headquarters. A Federal SARS Commander of a Rank of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) and not below Superintendent of Police (SP) will be in charge of FSARS in State and Zonal Commands across the Country. All Commissioners of Police have been directed by the Inspector General of Police to comply with this directive with immediate effect and warn their personnel not to pose as SARS operatives. The IGP X-Squad has been mandated to go round the Commands and Police Formations nationwide to ensure strict compliance and apprehend any erring police officer.
 Furthermore, a new training program to be organized by the Force in collaboration with some Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Local and International NGOs, and other Human Rights Organizations on core Police Duties, Observant of Human Rights and Handling, Care and Custody of Suspects have been directed by the Inspector General of Police for all Federal SARS personnel nationwide with immediate effect.

The informant is a Nigerian, while the 'other' Prisca is a Ghanian. Nigerian Prisca tries sending the 'other' Prisca a DM on Instagram but she doesn't get any response. So she decides to investigate her other family members in order to get a contact phone number. All efforts prove abortive till she gets in touch with one of her friends and her friend helps her continue the investigation and finds the contact number of the 'other' prisca's mum. She calls the 'other' Prisca's number, and at last gets the number of the 'other' Prisca. She sends her texts messages and a couple of her pictures with the Mutual boyfriend; Yomi, hoping for a reply.
Meanwhile, Mutual boyfriend has been acting strange before this revelation. He suddenly picks up fight with Nigerian prisca, and after the revelation, it is concluded that it is all in a bid to avoid the 'other' prisca finding out about the Ghanian Prisca.Y.D even went as far as telling Nigerian Prisca that his mom knows about her(of course, they bear the same name, duh) and lied that Ghanian Prisca was an 'ex'.

The federal government and some private sector stakeholders held a meeting this week to deliberate on how to tackle the Apapa traffic lock down that has been ongoing for a very long time. The vice president, presiding over the meeting, stated that all compnenets be examined, and lasting solution be provided. The federal minister of works, housing and power, assured the vice president that all hands would be on deck to bring this menace to an end. Some of the private sector stakeholders that were oresnt include: President, Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote; Chairman, Honeywell Group, Dr. Oba Otudeko; and the Chairman, BUA Group, Alhaji Abdulsamad Rabiu.
Some of the proposed solutions to the problem include;
Empty containers within the Apapa area to be relocated to holding bays.

Shipping companies no longer to be allowed to operate holding bays within the Apapa Port location.

Tanks farms not to be permitted within the Apapa area.

Process of licencing access to trailer parks and port location by the Nigerian Ports Authority to commence.

Advertisement seeking for expression of interests from private sector to operate trailer parks and holding bays within the Tin Can Island area to be issued.

A task force to manage the flow of traffic within the Apapa and Tin Can Island environ to be established.

The Governor of Imo state, Rocha's Okorocha has recently unveiled an erection done in honor of the Liberian President, Mrs Ellen Johnson Sirleaf. This would be the second erection to be put up after the other one done in honor of Jacob Zuma. The Liberian president, elated about the erection done in her honor, went on to add that it would be a source of inspiration to a lot of African Women around the world. She mentioned this while speaking at a lecture on the topic “Women in Politics” at the International Convention Centre Owerri, adding that as a continent Africa has some good reasons to celebrate.
Many reactions have trailed this second  erection and quite a large number of indigenes of the state have established their annoyance at this act. The sacking of over 20,000 teachers in Kaduna state by the state Governor has aroused many interests. The retrenchment was in a bid to attack the reduced standard of education in the state, after a test meant for the basic students were given to the teachers to take. The results of the tests were appalling as majority of the teachers failed.


A protest, led by Ayuba Wabba, the president of the Nigerian Labour congress was held in the state, on Wednesday, halting all activities. Wabba also alleged that the government came up with the competency test to sack teachers. Chairman of the NUT, Mr. Audu Amba, issued  a two-week ultimatum to the government to revoke the decision to sack 25,000 workers.
The governor of the state, condemned the use of the pupils on highways for their protests, endangering the lives of the little ones and he made this known through his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mr. Samuel Aruwan. No direct dialogue has been made so far over this issue.

The bodies of 26 Nigerian women have been recovered from the Mediterranean. Most of the women, aged in large part between 14 and 18, were drowned when the rubber boat carrying 64 sank on Friday while crossing the Mediterranean. The other three victims were collected as part of other operations and transferred the Cantabria as it headed to Salerno to turn over the bodies to the Italian authorities.
 The deceased women, believed to be Nigerian in origin, were recovered by the Spanish ship Cantabria as part of operation Sophia, an EU anti-trafficking force.

An investigation into the deaths of the women has been launched by Salermo prosecutors who believe there is a possibility that sexual violence played a role in the death of these women. The bodies were frozen onboard the Cantabria in order to preserve evidence that may have been lost during the journey to the coast. Full autopsies are expected to be completed at the Salerno morgue within the week.

The management of the National Youth Service Corps released a statement concerning the  delay in the payment of the monthly allowance to the corp members.

"Management wishes to inform Corps members and the rest of the public that funds have since been released by the Federal Government, but the delay is as a result of technical problems with the payment platform.

“We wish to further inform that the service providers are working round the clock to restore connectivity so as to allow seamless crediting of Corps members’ accounts. We are confident that this will be achieved in a couple of days.


“Management appreciates the patience shown by Corps members in the face of this unforeseen challenge, and appeals for more understanding as we are working assiduously with the relevant agencies to address the problem.

A man, identified as Oluseyi Adekunle, was reported to have committed suicide on Friday. According to some reports, he had just finished from a church programme, while other reports maintain that he was on his way to work when he decided to end his life at the lekki-ikoyi bridge.

However, an update on the issue has it that a certain fisherman found a dead body at about 5:00am this morning and with the help of LASEMA, the body was identified as  Oluseyi Adekunle. From the footage of the CCTV camera positioned around the scene, it was revealed that he removed his watch and wallet before plunging into water. This would be another of the numerous deaths that have occurred through this very means in Lagos state.

This week, Whatsapp announced the introduction of a new feature; Live Location. This feature would enable users to share their location with their loved ones or their online community.

The feature works for both individual chats and group chats. Anyone chatting with another person or group on WhatsApp will be able to find the new “Share Live Location” feature under “Location” after clicking the “Attach” button in the app. Users can decided how long they want their location to be shared, either for 15 minutes, 1 hour, or 8 hours, though you can also turn off sharing at any point. If multiple people in one group chat share their locations, then all of them will be visible on one map.
The feature is set to function soon.

Popular Wazobia FM O.A.P; Nedu, and fast rising comedian; EmmaOhMyGod, seem to be involved in some personal clash of recent. The speculations began shortly after an Instagram video was released by EmmaOhMyGod, in which he pleaded with Nedu to stay off his back, and also threatened hell if he refused to do so. He also mentioned that he wasn't one for social media brawls, however, he had reached his limit with what nedu allegedly did to him.

In response to EmmaOhMyGod, nedu also released a video on Instagram, expressing his dissapointment in the comedian, and also calling out his lack of maturity in handling the current situation. The cause of conflict between the two comedians is yet to be identified, however reports have it that Nedu seems to have started the disagreement.

Davido has been arrested for further questioning, over the death of one of his close pals; Tagbo, after autopsy results reveal that he died of suffocation.

It was also alleged that he(Tagbo) died in Davido's car. Further investigations reveal that Tagbo's body was dumped by davido's driver and two other mutual friends in his car and left at the hospital premises. Speaking on the incident, Davido claims his Alibi to be the DNA club, located on the island.

Accusing fingers have also been pointed at him, coming from popular actress; Caroline Danjuma, who claimed davido was responsible for the incident and advised him to own up to the crime. It was also revealed through the actress' twitter page that two other friends of davido; DJ Olu and Chima Amaechi were found dead in DJ Olu's car in an underground garage, three days after Tagbo's death.

The commissioner, Edgar Imohini, in a press conference held today in Lagos, announced that the star was being 'invited' for questioning.
